Even though I've moved out to California to a city with no seasons one of my favorite winter things is still worth looking forward to: Winter Beers. The months from November to April, even in 50 degree San Francisco weather, are the perfect time to move from the IPAs I love during the summer to big stouts and porters.
In addition one of the best ales ever is available during this period, the Anderson Valley Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale. I'd normally go into a glowing review, it's wonderful spicey flavors, it's crispness, everything. It's just an amazing beer.
Instead I just have one statement: Go try it. It's begun arriving many places, and you'll be glad you did.

I am glad you have come around to the Winter Solstice. We will be writing a review of this and several other winter beers in a round up very soon.
